We the family of Dr. Waigwa Wachira: Wacuka Ikua, Wachira & Nzisa Waigwa, the Wachiras, Wangais & Ikuas, would like to give thanks to God for His goodness in giving us the extraordinary gift of Waigwa.

We have been overwhelmed by the kindness, generosity and support given to us during his long battle with illness and after his unfortunate passing.

We would like to express our gratitude to several people & organizations that were instrumental in supporting us during this time, and facilitated his being laid to rest.

Firstly, to William Kipsat, for his dedicated service to Waigwa and to the medical professionals who managed his case over the years: Dr. Gikonyo and his staff in Karen hospital, especially those in the Sagana ward and the I.C.U staff, and to all others who assisted in various ways in his care, may God bless you mightily

To his long serving doctors, Dr. Mativo, Prof. Amayo, Dr. Mumenya, Drs. Chris & Evelyn Wagaiyu and others, may your boundaries be widened.

A special mention to Dr. and Mrs. Karo and the Melchizedek Hospital staff, for the very personalized, home based care, where Nurse Mukunya & nurse aids Miriam & Wilcester standout, as well as his physiotherapists. You all did a commendable job and we thank you.

To the many who visited during the trying times of his illness and then over the difficult week of his passing, we would like to thank:

His life-long friend Prof. Steve Mutuli, colleagues & friends Henry Indangasi(Conrad) & Bukenya(Bukesh) for your beautiful tributes, his many students led by Kimingichi, the class of 84, and the entire University of Nairobi fraternity, please accept our heartfelt gratitude.

To the church community where we have found solace and comfort; the P.C.E.A church of Karen led by the past moderators and the present Dr. Alphonse Khanga. District 4 led by elder Josphat Githachuri, the Monday prayer group, the Health Group, & the Woman's Guild. And to the Catholic church community in our neighborhood, Cardinal Otunga Girls Empowerment Center, father Odhiambo & the entire Jumuia, “Ngai amwonekanire”.

The many friends who have consistently visited, the Rhino Park ladies, the late Joe Muchinji and Karonji Ndehi, Thank you.

We’d like to thank the excellent funeral committee, especially Wambui Njoora (Kabui) & Extra Dimension for planning the entire event, including turning a shamba into a haven. Major (Rtd.)
