It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of C.I. Edward Kimutai Kiptum of Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Headquarters Nairobi which occurred in Nairobi Hospital on 14th March 2018 after a tragic road accident along Kiambu road.
Loving husband of Margaret Jepkemoi Kore and Philis Jepkosgei Kipkorir. Son of Kiptum Daudi Chemonjoi and Salome Kimoi Kiptum. Father of Patricia Kimutai, Sheila Kimutai, Faith Kimutai, Noah Kimutai, Mark Kimutai, Nerissa Kimutai and Neran Kimutai. Son-in-law of Kipkore Rotich, Nancy Kore, Joel Kipkorir and Jane Kipkorir. Brother of Loice David (Sambiri Kapchepukus), SGT Samuel Kipkorir (Kakamega Police), Musa Kimaiyo (Chief Kipsaiya Location), Joel Kiptum (Sergent-at-arms Machakos County Assembly), Cornelius Kipchumba Kiptum (Canada), Robert Kipkosgei Chemonjoi (Kalya Fm, Kitale), Margaret Indany (Langata Prisons) and Susan Jerutto (Kapchelos village). Brother-in-law of Philemon, Abraham, Jepkosgei, Kiplagat, Kiprop, Dickson, Cleopas, Virginia, Isaac, Esao, Dominic, Mathew, Cornelius, Faith and many others. He was uncle and cousin of many.
Family members and friends are meeting in Nairobi, Eldoret and at home. Cortege leaves Chiromo Mortuary on Friday 23rd March 2018 for an overnight stay at his home in Kaptabon, Kipsaiya, Marakwet West Sub County. Burial will be on Saturday 24th March 2018 at his home in Kaptabon village Tumeiyo Sub Location, Kipsaiya Location, Elgeyo Marakwet County.
