In humble acceptance of God’s will, we announce the promotion to glory of the late Rtd. Rev. Edwin Maina King’aru (ACK Diocese of Mt. Kenya South), which occurred on the 18th of March 2018 after a sudden period of illness.
Son of the late John King’aru Thuo and Adonijah Wangari King’aru. Son in-law of the late Peter Kihara Kamau and Lizie Wangari Kihara. Husband of the late Winnie Muthoni. Father of Noadiah Wangari, Jonathan Chege, Pastor Peter Kihara, Susan Wangeci, James Kamau, Peninah Wangui, Bishop Julius Kamau Grace Nyambura and the late Elizabeth Wangari. Father in-law of Susan Chege, Mary Kihara, Janetta Kamau, George Marita, Beatrice Kamau and the late Jason Kanini. Grandfather and great grandfather of many. Brother to Orlen Wambui, Harrison Kamau, Nancy Wangui, Geoffrey Maina, Grace Wangeci, the late Risper Nyambura, Eston Ngure, Asaph Mwangi and Susan Wangeci. Brother in-law to Nathaniel Maina, Bethuel Macharia, Noadiah Njoki, the late Noel Wangui, Isabella Wambui, Apufia Wangeci and Julius Kamau.
Friends and family are meeting at his home in Muthure village, Kabete, every day from 3pm, and at Parklands Baptist Church in Westlands at 5:30pm. There will be a memorial service on Tuesday 27th March 2018 at ACK St. Mary’s Church Ngure, Gitaru from 2pm. The cortege will leave the Kenyatta University Funeral home at 7am on Thursday 29th March 2018, followed by funeral service from 10am at ACK St. Phillips Church Ihiga, Kangema Muranga, and thereafter interment at his family home in Ithiegeni.
