It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we hereby announce the promotion to glory of Philip Gikanga Gathuru on Monday, 2nd April 2018. He was the son of the late Paul Gathuru and late Rebecca Muhito.
Husband of Philomena Wanjiru Gathuru. Daughter of the Late Jackson Kieya and the Late Alice Muthoni. He was father of Irene, the late Paul, Alice and the late Judy. Grandfather of Ivy, Shiru, Khara, Kieya, Philip, Justine and Sandra. Brother of the late Milkah Mukuhi, late Ishmael Wangunyu, late Simon Ngarama, Deborah Wanjiku Ngaruiya, Mary Wangui Muigai, John Karanja, Francis Muiru and Jane Wairimu Karaya. Step brother of Joseph Gachii, Bernard Wangunyu, Stephen Kariithi and George Ndungu. Brother in-law of late Gideon Ngaruiya, late Boswell Gathu, Stephen Thiru, Dr Sister Gachambi, Peter Gaitho, Prof Kieya and others.
Formerly of Unga Limited, Cardbury Schweppes, Henkel Kenya Ltd and Soilex Limited.
Prayer meetings are being held daily, at his home in Riara Ridge, from 4.00 pm and on Sunday, 8th April at 3.00 pm
He will be laid to rest on Thursday, 12th April 2018. The cortege leaves Lee Funeral Home at 8.00 am for a burial service at PCEA Riara Ridge Church at 10.00 am, thereafter burial will follow at his home in Riara Ridge.
