It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Mwalimu John Odawa Akala. Son of the late Nicholas Akala and the late Mama Domtilla Anyango of Lukongo Village, Mumias West Sub County.
Husband of the late Bertha Omollo and Rosemary Akinyi, Margaret Adhiambo, Lilian Awino. Father of James Odawa, Thomas Odawa, Dr. F. X.O. Odawa, Fredrick Odawa, George Odawa, Nicholas Akala, Betty Odawa, Kevin Odawa, Martha Odawa, Collins Odawa. Father in law of the late Clesensia Osore, Dr. Susan Amuti, Dr. Janet Mangera, Vivianne Ochiel, Rose Atieno, Dorcas Adongo, Pauline Kwamboka, Anne Auma. Grandfather of Sheila Mugisha, Margaret, Lorine, Vincent, Victor, Dennis, Boniface, Janet, Jeffrey, Bertha Omolo, Sarah, Charles, Michelle, Bertha Atieno, John Jr, Millicent, Evelyne, Lydia, Emmy, Henry, Jacob, Abby, Nissi, Bertha Moraa, Lilian, Scovia, Bertha Akinyi and several Great Grandchildren. The body lies at Lee Funeral Home. Funeral meetings are held daily at Prof. Nelson Awori Centre, next to Nairobi Hospital, 3rd Floor- Room B2. There will be a fundraiser at All Saints Cathedral on Tuesday the 10th April 2018 at 5 pm. The requiem mass will be held at Don Bosco Catholic Church in Upper Hill on Thursday 12th April 2018 at 10.00 am.
The burial will take place at his rural home in Lukongo Village on Saturday 14th April 2018.
