WE MISS YOU

Five years ago, the cruel arm of death stole you from us,

But time has not stolen your memory from us,

You went when you were delivering Namunyak to the world,

Sad that you endured the birth pains but didn’t live to see her face,

She is now 5 years old; a source of strength and comfort while we are apart,

Her smile is contagious and often chases away the sadness of your absence.

 

Five years ago, death veiled Namunyak’s birth in unreserved sadness,

As we heard her cry in her new world and her mum lifeless,

But by God’s grace today we have healed,

We celebrate her birthday; we celebrate your life and times while you lived,

You remain in our hearts and thoughts,

Your love is forever etched in our hearts.

 

Your death left a heartache no one can heal,

But your love left a memory no one can steal ,

We shall ever cherish the moments we spent together,

Every day we celebrate your life,

Relentlessly we pursue justice to mitigate the cruelty of the agents of your death,

In your honour, we shall call justice to answer.

 

Still missed, still loved, still dear to us, in loving memory of your life and love.
