Son of the late David Kanyeki Wathika and the late Irene Wahura Kanyeki. Husband of Mary Wangari Wathika. Father of Irene & John Alubbe, the late Esther Wambura Wathika, Samuel Kanyeki Wathika & Elizabeth Wambui, the late Isaac Thooko Wathika. Grandfather of Timothy Wathika, Gracia Alubbe and Mark Alubbe. Brother of Grace Wanjiku Kanyeki, the late James Githure & Elizabeth Wanyi, Beth Wakarima, Pastor Bernice Muita & the late Bishop Muita, Dr. Samson Gatukui & Annie Njoki, the late Margaret Wambura, Reuben Gachuhi & Eunice Gathigia, the late Moses Njukia & Jane Wangui, the late Grace Waigumo, Robert Gakuya & Christine Makena.

Funeral arrangements are being held at his Kariobangi South Flats home House No. FN14, at Norwich Union House in Nairobi starting from 6.00p.m. and at his rural home in Kaharo Village, Mukurweini, Nyeri County. The cortege will leave Kenyatta University Mortuary on Friday 13th April 2018 at 7.
