It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Christopher Maithya Mativu former Deputy Secretary in the Office of the President which occurred on 18th April 2018 at the Nairobi Women’s Hospital, Adams after a short illness.
Son of the late John Mativu Maithya and the late Theresia Mukenyi Mativu of Mwanyani village; Kauti sub-location; Kithembe location; Makueni County.
Beloved husband of Rose Muhonja Maithya. Loving father of Isabel Maithya of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Elvis Mativu, Victor Ngindu, Kevin Muthama and Brian Muhindi. Brother of Ann, Martin Mativu of Mbooni East, the late Margaret, Francis Muthenya, the late Assumpta and January Mutiso. Grandson of the late Joseph Maithya Mulala and Susan Itungwa Maithya.
Brother-in-law of Ida and Rachael. Uncle to Magdalena, Maundu, Samuel, Susan, Ndunge of A.P. Jogoo house, Augustine, Mark, Kioko and Pascalia. Nephew of Timothy Maithya & Mary, Benedeta, Mutu, Pauline, Lawrence Maithya, Mary, John Maithya, Rose, Sabina and Jane. Cousin of many.
Friends and relatives are meeting daily at Railway Club, Nairobi starting at 5:00pm and at the deceased’s home in Kitengela for prayers and funeral arrangements. A fundraising will be held on 2nd May 2018 at the same venue. Burial will be held at his farm in Sultan Hamud (kwa Major Muiu) on 5th of May 2018 starting at 10:00am.
Chris, we loved you but God loved you more.
