It is with deep sorrow and acceptance of God’s will that we announce the sudden death of Mzee Washington Zebedee Walusala Rakama who passed on at Life Care Hospital Bungoma on Sunday 29/3/2020 at 9:30am. Formally Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Government of Kenya and also former Town Clerk of Kakamega, Nanyuki and Kitale.
At the time of his death, he was the patron of Banyala ba Ndombi in the Luhya Council of Elders.
Husband of the late Robai Andeka, Rose Akech, Rose Mwanza Rakama, and Komwaka Harriet. Son of the late Jeremiah Walusala Rakama and the late Rebecca Nekunda. Father of Anderson, Judith, Brenda, the late Johnny, Franky, Eric, Christine, Joy, Ruth and Edward Rakama. Brother of Johnson, Hanington, Livingston, Stanley, Julius, Enock, Bushuru, the late Wilfred, Dismal, Stephen, Ernest, the late Susan, Bett, the late Linet, Neddy, Florence, Evaline, Phanice, Jane, Beatrice and Catherine Rakama. Brother in-law of the late Mark Udoto, the late Hon. Wasike Ndombi, Michael Washika, the late Paul Imende, Benard Udoto, Nashon Udoto and others. Maternal uncle of Gilbert, Jones, Violet, Janet, Lawrence Simbauni, Tony, Billy, Martin, Vera and others. Paternal Uncle of David, Caro, Brian, Dr. Stella, Kevin, Douglas Rakama, Maureen, Polycap and others.
The cortege leaves Life Care Hospital mortuary Bungoma on Friday, 3/04/2020 for a brief viewing at his residence in Munyali Bungoma then proceed to his homestead in Lwakhupa Village where he will be laid to rest. Burial will be on Saturday 4/4/2020.
