Rt. Rev. Abbot John Baptist OSB and the monks of Prince of Peace Benedictine Abbey-Tigoni, regret to announce the sudden demise of their brother, Rev. Fr. Winfried (Charles) Kipkemoi Yego OSB, which occurred at Kiriarini Mission hospital in Muranga.
Son of the late Mzee Raphael Yego and mama Pauline Sokomo. He is a brother to; Clement, Salina, Sylvester, Emmanuel, Johnston, Alice, Edna, Elly, and Lilian.
Fr. Yego joined the Benedictine monks in the year 1999 and took his first monastic vows on 5th, Jan, 2002. He then went to Germany for Priestly studies and was ordained in Kenya on 10th, July, 2010. Fr has worked in Illeret, Parish priest at St. Benedict parish, Ruaraka and as the secretary General of the congregation from the year 2018-2021. He was currently working in Nanyuki Bible on the Ground as the superior.
The requim mass will begin at 10am on 3rd, August, 2021 in the abbey church and thereafter the body will be laid to rest at Abbey cemetery in Tigoni, Limuru.
