It is with great sadness and humble acceptance of God’s will that we the family of the late Mwalimu Richard Chege Kirikiru, announce the death of our loving mother Isabella Waitherero Njeri Chege of Doonholm, Nairobi who hailed from Gathukiini village, Gikigie sub-location, Kinyona Location in Kigumo and also from Kiruri in Kangema, Muranga County which occurred on Sunday 8/8/2021 at Avenue Hospital, Nairobi. She was the daughter of the late Manyara Mwangi and the late Murugi Manyara. Daughter In law to the Late Jacob Kirikiru and the late Wangui Kirikiru.
Loving wife to the late Mwalimu Richard Chege and adoring mother to John Maina Chege, Joyce Chege, Peter Manyara, the late Jane Wambui, Herbert Kanina, the late Mercy Wanjiku, Lucy Waithira, the late Paul Mwangi, Stephen Kanyonyo and Hiram Mbatia. Mother in law to Julie, Terry, Grace, Kamau Njema, Wangari and Margaret. Grandmother to Richard (Junior), Richie Maina, Ruth, Isabel (Gabby) the late Therero, Isabella (Saby), Saby Herbert, Njeri Godana, Maria, Juliet, Saby Peter, Njema, Njeri Maina, Njoki, Joyce Manyara, Bobo, Nyaga Maina, Richard Kako, Kate, William, Richard Kanina, Nicholas, Njeri Mbatia, Richie Kamau, Richie Mbatia. Great grandmother to Tristan, Arianna, Spencer Jr., Leon, Ben and Jane Okatch, Kylie and Lucas.
Sister to Elizabeth Njoki, Samuel Maina, James Macharia and the Late Rudia, Mwangi, Mugure, Munjiru and Wambui. Sister in law to the late Kanina, the Late Kanyonyo, Mbatia, Kimani, the late Njuguna, Grelis Kamau, Mary Macharia, Margaret Nyoro, Beatrice Muturi and Janet Njoroge. She was an aunt and friend to many.
Planning meetings are taking place every evening starting 5:30pm at All Saints Cathedral. There will be a mini harambee to offset a cumulative hospital bill of about 5 million on Friday, 28 August 2021 at the same venue starting 5:00 pm.
The cortège leaves Avenue Hospital Mortuary on Monday 30th August, 2021 at 8.00 AM for a funeral service at All Saints Cathedral Church starting from 10.00 am. Thereafter, burial will take place at Langata Cemetery.
